Omega celebrates the 75th anniversary of the Seamaster series with almost two hands full of Summer Blue colored Seamasters, and the Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 6000M 45.5 MM Ultra Deep Summer Blue is one of these. And one of their top divers. Well, the Ultra Deep model even holds a new world record: no watch has ever been deeper in the ocean than this model.

Since the 26th of March 2012 the experimental Rolex Deepsea Challenge watch held the record, set by James Cameron. He took his Rolex 10,908 meters (35,787 feet) deep down into the Mariana Trench. In 2019 Omega dives their Ultra Deep concept watch to 10,935 meters (35,876 feet) deep into the same trench, and this Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 6000M 45.5 MM Ultra Deep Summer Blue commemorates that moment. A nice gimmick: if you shine an UV light on the dial you will read “OMEGA WAS HERE!” together with “10,935 m” and some trench-like outlines.

The Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 6000M 45.5 MM Ultra Deep Summer Blue offers a power reserve of 60 hours

This Seamaster Ultra Deep doesn’t go as deep as the concept watch from 2019: a serious 6,000 meters (20,000 feet) is the max. And we’re pretty sure you’re never going to get that deep. But knowing that your 45.5-millimeter steel diver can reach that far is cool enough. It’s also a cool thing that the dial looks like the surface of a trench, and the luminescent markers and hours and GMT hand light-up in blue. The 12-hour dot and the minutes hand light-up in green.

Inside the case of the Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 6000M 45.5 MM Ultra Deep Summer Blue is an automatic Omega caliber 8912 which delivers a power reserve of 60 hours. And it is METAS certified. The steel case back has Omega’s Seamaster logo depicting a trident-bearing Poseidon together with two seahorses. One is the design from 1956 and the other one the brand’s new design.
